About Betty

Betty teaching

Betty teaching an EFT training for mental health professionals through the Francis Foundation, Middlesex, Vermont

I’m a former French teacher who made a transition into the healing arts about 16 years ago, though I started years before that. It was a rocky road, and I talk about that on the My Story page.

Over the years, I’ve developed a way of working that I call Creative EFT in which I blend insights and understandings about the subconscious into the EFT process. With my teaching experience (which was on both university levels and secondary levels), I love that I can bring my teaching skills to my EFT Training services — as an AAMET Master Trainer of Trainers, I teach Level 1-2 and Level 3 classes and mentor EFT students for certification.

It is a joy for me to mentor and train new EFT practitioners, which is why I created the Emotional Freedom Mastery Program to offer exceptional training and support on every level. Go to the Program Description.

If you’re interested, the full list of my credentials can be found on CreativeEFT.com.

Guiding Lights

I believe in healing.

I believe that the keys to healing are within each individual.

I believe in the process of life in which nothing is wasted — everything can contribute to our learning and healing.

I value diversity and respect differences.

I have a spiritual orientation and appreciate that this can mean different things to different people — as long as our understanding of spirituality is life-giving, it is one of many true spiritual paths.

I appreciate the mystery of this journey. “

Who Would Benefit from Mentoring with Betty?

I would like for each person to find the right match — the mentoring support that is just right for each unique individual. If any of the following are true for you, what I’m offering may be just right:

  • Are you a life-long learner who wants to get deep into whatever you are passionate about?
  • Do you like the idea of close, supportive relationships with your mentor and fellow EFT practitioner candidates?
  • Do you enjoy learning and discovery through processes and guidance? (home study lessons and worksheets)
  • Are you ready to strengthen your EFT Foundational Core Skills while also learning innovative creative tapping techniques, with encouragement for your own creativity and style?
  • Would you like a safe place to do some of your own personal work with EFT?
  • Are you interested in learning about the subconscious and how this can enhance your tapping effectiveness?
  • Would it help you to have on-going support and structure so that you become certified in a timely manner?
  • Would you like to step into your Certified EFT Practitioner status fully confident of your skills?
  • Would you like to have step-by-step guidance for the business and technological side (by someone who knows how challenging those aspects can seem)?
  • Are you drawn to a spiritual orientation, with great respect for all the forms this can take? Working with EFT, we all serve the spirit or essence of healing. As Gary Craig used to say, healing happens “not by you but through you.”

 Personal camel's hump sm

I live in South Burlington, Vermont, with my retired husband Chuck — and our three cats. We have two adult daughters who are both helping to make the world a better place, one whose work serves the cause of social justice, the other whose profession is medical social work.

I love the beauty of the Champlain Valley where we are located. Lake Champlain is between two mountain ranges. We see the Green Mountains to the east and the Adirondacks across the lake to the west.

I am never happier than when I am journaling early in the morning… reading… learning something… hiking or walking or biking… having coffee with friends… watching really good cinema, especially foreign films… mesmerized by a rainbow or a sunset… enjoying family… or simply savoring some quiet time.

And — doing my work! I enjoy my healing work with people so much that I’m often happy to take on sessions even on weekends — I would rather do sessions than anything else 😉

I was born on January 14, 1951. I’m a Capricorn Sun, with an Aries Moon and Sagittarius rising. Life is challenging, of course… but life is good.

My Vision

When I first tried to make a career change into the healing arts, I began with a graduate degree program. That was the only way I could see to have structure and in-depth learning and a program that would move me into the new work I wanted to do. And I thought I needed that […]

From the Mountaintop

Here in Vermont, I see mountains every day and they are a good reminder to keep a sense of perspective. When I work with people, I sometimes use this simple suggestion: “if you could see this situation from high on a mountaintop, what would it look like?” Immediately, your mind goes to a different place.

EFT Core Skills and EFT Art of Delivery

When you train in EFT, you hear a lot about 1) the EFT Core Foundational Skills and 2) the EFT Art of Delivery. I like to think of these as the left brain and the right brain of EFT. The EFT Core Foundational Skills – EFT’s Left Brain. Solid EFT training will get you grounded […]

Do I Have to Get Out of my Comfort Zone?

Change is hard. Even good change. One reason is that some part of us is always attached to our comfort zone. There’s a part of us that just wants things to stay familiar and predictable, and it fears the unknown. It feels safer in that cocoon.

Business/Mindset Corner

Mindset Matters

When some of us in the healing arts think about developing the business side of our practice, we may not greet that with excitement and passion. In fact, it may have quite the opposite effect on us. If, in our minds, “business” means selling, manipulating, trying to get the most for the least, being profits-oriented, etc., we […]
