My Vision

June 20, 2014 By Betty Moore-Hafter 1 Comment

sunflower 500When I first tried to make a career change into the healing arts, I began with a graduate degree program. That was the only way I could see to have structure and in-depth learning and a program that would move me into the new work I wanted to do. And I thought I needed that professional credential. Unfortunately, I ended up in a program that was just not a fit for me, and I had to give up the career change for a while. I had lost my vision.

(There’s more about this on the My Story page).

It took several years, but I eventually found a new vision. I was inspired by wonderful, creative people I had met who practiced in the alternative healing arts. I honestly hadn’t realized that I could “enter the profession” that way. I then followed my heart into many trainings and, as I gathered skills, I often thought about how I was creating my own program, the one I wish I had had.

It was great to have that freedom to choose what was right for me. But it was exhausting too. I look back and see all the missing pieces. I wish I had had some on-going mentoring; I wish I had had business support and training; I wish the technology hadn’t been so daunting. Today I have a deeply satisfying and successful practice in the healing arts that is a perfect fit for me, but if I try to tell anyone how I got here, the story looks like a patchwork quilt! Or perhaps a maze with plenty of dead-ends, though I eventually found my way.

So, my vision for this program is to offer aspiring EFT practitioners the support, guidance, and all-inclusive coaching program I wish I had had. With a cohesive, structured plan for development and on-going mentoring and group support, the path can be easier for new EFT practitioners. It is still a lot of work to master our craft, develop wonderful skills, and then get out there and create a practice. But the journey can be fun and exciting, rather than confusing and intimidating.

Another important part of my vision is to help each person BLOSSOM. I believe that each of us has our own unique gift to give the world, and the world will be impoverished if we do not give that gift. One of my own gifts is that of teaching and of being an enthusiastic supporter for those I work with, nurturing their own uniqueness and self-expression. I’m launching this program with the vision that it will serve the right people. We need more healing in the world! I encourage anyone who feels excited about EFT and wants to share it to believe in yourself — you are needed.

Sincerely,

Betty

Thanks Betty – this is inspiring, and makes me want to keep pushing on through the challenges of starting a business; be courageous, and stand in who I am and offer what I have to offer to the world!

From the Mountaintop

Here in Vermont, I see mountains every day and they are a good reminder to keep a sense of perspective. When I work with people, I sometimes use this simple suggestion: “if you could see this situation from high on a mountaintop, what would it look like?” Immediately, your mind goes to a different place.

EFT Core Skills and EFT Art of Delivery

When you train in EFT, you hear a lot about 1) the EFT Core Foundational Skills and 2) the EFT Art of Delivery. I like to think of these as the left brain and the right brain of EFT. The EFT Core Foundational Skills – EFT’s Left Brain. Solid EFT training will get you grounded […]

Do I Have to Get Out of my Comfort Zone?

Change is hard. Even good change. One reason is that some part of us is always attached to our comfort zone. There’s a part of us that just wants things to stay familiar and predictable, and it fears the unknown. It feels safer in that cocoon.

Mindset Matters

When some of us in the healing arts think about developing the business side of our practice, we may not greet that with excitement and passion. In fact, it may have quite the opposite effect on us. If, in our minds, “business” means selling, manipulating, trying to get the most for the least, being profits-oriented, etc., we […]
